Affiliate tracking
Affiliate tracking records clicks and conversions from your Highcovery deeplinks in your Shopify shop.How it works
- A customer clicks a deeplink in the Highcovery app.
- Your store receives the click ID (
hc_cid) as a URL parameter and stores it as a cookie for 30 days. - When an order is placed, the click ID is sent to Highcovery.
- The conversion is recorded and the commission calculated.
- Cancellations and refunds are reported and adjust the commission.
Coupon code fallback
If an order carries no click ID, for example because the customer declined cookies or the attribution window has expired, Highcovery checks the coupon codes used. If one matches a code you entered under Affiliate → Integration → Coupon codes, the order is still attributed to you.Requirements
For affiliate tracking to work, the following must be in place:- Tracking set up in your shop – scripts and webhooks in your Shopify shop, see Set up Shopify.
- Active affiliate agreement – you need an active affiliate agreement with a partner ID in your Highcovery dashboard.
- Valid payment method – without a payment method on file Highcovery pauses tracking, see Payments.
Troubleshooting
If your tracking status shows as inactive or orders do not arrive, check the following:1
Agreement and payment method
Open Affiliate and check the status banners at the top of the page. They name the reason when tracking is deactivated.

Scripts in the theme (Shopify)
Make sure the cookie script and the core script are in the active theme. After a theme change they must be added again.

Webhooks (Shopify)
In Shopify under Settings → Notifications → Webhooks, check that all four Highcovery URLs are registered and that the webhook secret is saved in the dashboard.

Test order
Open a deeplink from the app, place an order and check that it appears under Recent activity.
Under the refund policy, refunds up to 120 days after the order are taken into account and reduce the commission accordingly.
