# Tags

> How to manage your tags

## What are tags?

Tags are used to add additional attributes to your products. Each tag belongs to a category, and you can assign multiple tags to a product's attributes.

For example, you could create a category called "Flavor" with tags like "Sweet", "Earthy", "Citrus", etc.

## Manage your tags

### Add a new tag

To add a new tag, click on the sidebar menu `Tags` and the button on the top right corner `Add new Tag`.

<Note>You need to have at least one category created before you can add tags. If you don't have any categories, you will be redirected to the categories page first.</Note>

The following fields will be shown to fill out:

| Field | Description |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------- |
| **Name** | The name of the tag |
| **Category** | The category this tag belongs to (required) |

### Edit a tag

In your tags overview, just click on the tag you want to edit.

### Remove a tag

To remove a tag permanently from your account and our app, click on the three dots menu and select `Remove tag`.

## Translations

If you have multiple languages enabled for your account, you can add translations for your tag names.

When creating or editing a tag, you will see language tabs for each available language. Fill in the tag name for each language you want to support.
