# Set up Shopify (Theme Extension)

> Enable the tracking scripts in your Shopify theme

## Enable the tracking scripts

The Highcovery affiliate tracking scripts must be enabled in your Shopify theme so that clicks and conversions are captured.

<Note>This page applies to **Shopify** only. With **WooCommerce**, no theme changes are needed – the plugin handles tracking automatically, see [Set up WooCommerce](/affiliate/setup-woocommerce).</Note>

### Setup

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the theme editor">
    In your Shopify admin, go to **Online Store** → **Themes** and click **Customize** on your active theme.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open App Embeds">
    In the theme editor, click the **App Embeds** toggle icon in the left sidebar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable Highcovery Affiliate">
    Find **Highcovery Affiliate** in the list and switch it **on**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save** in the top right.
  </Step>

### Verification

After enabling, the status on your Highcovery Connections page updates to **Active** within an hour. You can also click **Check & reactivate connection** to verify immediately.

<Warning>
  Make sure you are editing the **published/active** theme, not a draft. If you switch themes, you must enable the extension again on the new theme.
