# Partner agreement

> Activate the affiliate programme and receive your partner ID

## Becoming an affiliate partner

Before you can promote products, you accept the affiliate agreement. This gives you a **partner ID** and access to all affiliate areas in the dashboard.

### Requirements

* An active store of type **Online shop** on Highcovery.
* A Shopify shop where you can set up tracking, see [Set up Shopify](/en/affiliate/setup-shopify).
* A verified business account.

### Accepting the agreement

    Click **Affiliate** in the sidebar. Without an agreement you land on the setup page with an overview of the programme.

  <Step title="Activate the programme">
    Click **Activate affiliate programme**. You are taken to the contract review.

  <Step title="Review the contract details">
    At the top you see the minimum term, notice period and commission rate. Below is the full contract text with your company details and the attachments such as the data processing agreement, privacy policy and affiliate terms.

    Tick **I accept the affiliate agreement and all associated terms** and click **Accept contract**.

After accepting, the contract is created and your partner ID is assigned. You see it in the status card on the affiliate start page and can copy it there.

### Commission

* The **commission rate** is set in your contract and shown on the affiliate start page. The default is 20 % of the net merchandise value; you keep 80 %.
* The basis is the **net merchandise value** of the order. Shipping costs and taxes are not included.
* On cancellation the commission is dropped. Refunds within 120 days of confirmation reduce it proportionally.

### Managing the contract

Under **Settings → Contracts** you see the status, term, documents and accepted legal texts of your affiliate contract. There you can also cancel the contract or revoke a cancellation, see [Contracts](/en/dashboard/contracts).
